The February 2022 Medium
Spring 2022 is shaping up to be full of Dogira’s biggest moves yet, and this month’s Medium is overflowing with razzle dazzle. We’ve got more information about our new hire, details about our latest play-to-earn game announcement, a look at our new podcast, and more.
There’s a literal mountain of news to cover, so let’s get to it!
Expanding Our Team
Join us in welcoming Caroline Conway to Dogira!
Serving as our Managing Director, she has a wealth of experience in sales, marketing, brand development, and management at both enterprise and start-up companies over the past decade of her career.
Joining us at a very busy time in our development cycle, she will be lending her experience toward our upcoming product launches. Her focus will be on building up our existing platforms, products, and bringing more exposure to our ecosystem as a whole.
Caroline graduated from University College of Cork in 2014 with a Master’s in Marketing and Management. She is currently studying to earn a degree in Computer Science.
The Year of the Slime
On Friday, February 11th we made one of our biggest reveals yet.
That’s right, we showed off some art from our brand new play-to-earn game where you will “Grow Your Gooey Kingdom.” One part idle quester, another part creature breeder, Gooeys is poised to glob onto players and never let go!
As Dogira Studios’ first internally developed title, Gooeys will feature Mary’s iconic painterly style. So, how will this P2E title work? Well, there are two different mechanics at play here:
1. The NFT Collection
2. The Gameplay
First, let’s discuss the NFT Collection.
Non-Fungible Slimes
Because this is first and foremost a collecting game, it’s important to keep the initial Gooeys rare. On launch there will only be 1,000 of these adorable little slimes available to mint.
Our goal is to stagger minting into a few phases — starting with Dogira holders. Early Gooey minting starts on March 11th and will last through March 20th.
Public mint will kick off on March 25th, with the art revealing on March 28th. The details about these phases and who gets to mint when will be released at a later date. Once minting has concluded, anyone with a Gooey in their wallet should be able to play the game on April 1st.
Each Gooey ought to feel artistically unique with different colors, body shapes, masks, and other enchanting traits that will make growing your Gooey kingdom a blast.
A Game That’s Sure To Stick…
One of the lessons we’ve learned over the years is truly immersive titles often demand longer amounts of attention to achieve a sense of accomplishment. This is why we are trying our hand at a gameplay system that straddles active and passive play.
Gooeys features critter care and growth systems, while blending in passive questing so that almost every time you leave and come back you’re one step closer to your goals.
The core feature of the game is Gooey breeding. This requires pairing your existing Gooeys with another in your collection — or one you rent — to create brand new Gooey with new stats and traits.
Each Gooey will come rolled with a spread of stats that will enable them to be better or worse at certain types of quests and tasks. Feeding and caring well for your little slimes will enable them to pass on better stats to their offspring.
Because we’re building on the Polygon network, you’ll be able to experiment more with this feature far more than if we were building anywhere else. With gas fees being extremely low, we hope to see a booming Gooeys ecosystem…
As mentioned above, players will be able to loan out their Gooeys to new players or sell their Gooeys. Our aim is to create a collaborative gameplay loop where the rarest Gooey traits aren’t impossible to obtain (but they may certainly cost you).
As we get player feedback, we plan to adjust existing systems, while adding new gameplay elements that further balance the game experience. Our goal is to create a P2E experience that is fun and rewarding for everyone!

We Can Only Go Up
This month we launched Dogira Studios’ very first podcast, The Bottom: We Can Only Go Up. This show is framed around getting to the bottom of some of crypto’s more complex topics.
Rather than focus on all the hype and energy in the space, the discussions we have are meant to reveal some of the nuances of tokens, NFTs, and blockchain games; all so we can improve our understanding of this constantly evolving industry. To celebrate Hanzo’s V2 token launch and NFT reveal, we set up a single-staking pool over on Dogira.Finance that will reward stakers with $HANZO tokens. The reward emissions are balanced to last for one year! We hope you will enjoy another long-term pool to stand beside our $DOGIRA offering.
Along with earning their new token, you can also still mint Hanzo’s Founders Collection. Half the collection was burned on reveal day, but there are still plenty of stylish, VRF-randomized NFTs to pick up.
These NFTs have some proposed utility, that should be implemented once their MMO title releases. If you’ve got questions about what the Hanzo team has planned, check their Telegram.
